We started our trip in Philadelphia, Pa. I was a bridesmaid in my best friend’s wedding at the Downtown Club off Washington Square in the city. It was a lovely wedding. We had quick trip, but that is not to say that we didn’t accomplish goals. Before the hair appointments and wedding rehearsals, Andrew and I snuck down to South Philly and wandered through the Italian Market. I ate my first Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia — we went to Pat’s, not Geno’s. Straight up with Whiz. I expected aerated cheese, but what I got instead was a more viscous nacho cheese. We walked row after row of tiny shops with fresh produce, Italian meats and cured hams, and tons of olives. It was a part of Philadelphia I never think to visit, and we had a wonderful time.

Then we left for a week on Lake Winnespaukee in New Hampshire.
