I’ve been looking for a trench coat for quite awhile. I have broad shoulders and a big chest, so the whole v-neck converging over my chest with stiff buttons concept isn’t really ideal for my body type. And, whether I am looking online or in a store, I am always drawn to Burberry. It is instinctual — I can tell the Burberry’s from the non-Burberry’s with a mere glance. So here’s the trick, how do I buy a trench that can fool my eye and not spend $1,500 on a trench? So far, this does not exist. I don’t even know what it is that makes it distinctly Burberry, maybe it’s a combination of little details, but it is an endless search.
My boyfrend’s parents have Burberry trench coats; coats they inherited from the grandparents. My first visit to Pittsburgh was marked by Andrew and I tooling around Pittsburgh in matching (oversized) Burberry trench coats. We were obsessed with Law and Order at the time and referred to each other and ourselves as Benson and Stabler. I think I even claimed that coat as an inheritance a mere three months into our relationship.
