I live in Albany Park and therefore am forced to go to the Ravenswood Post Office at Lawrence and Campbell.  Avoid this Post Office and zip code at all costs.  It is the worst post office in the city of Chicago; there is documentation. And I love that it is on Yelp—who rates a post office?!  I use Yelp for choosing restaurants and small businesses; you can’t choose to not patronize a post office.  And yet, with it’s stellar one star rating, I am stuck with this business.

This morning the post office opened at 8:08.  Arriving at 7:56, I sat on the curb waiting for signs of life.  Like a dweeb, I got there early thinking they would actually be cognizant that they have customers. Oh well.  People came and went, rushing off to work, postponing the doom of that fucking endless line.  So, when it actually opened eight minutes after scheduled time, I was the first (and only) one in line.  The woman unlocked the door, and I gave her a second to open up shop.  And then, this hysterical Asian woman came rushing in and just started talking over me. Guess who got served first?  *I’ll just take it as a hint for next time.

In the end, I have been gifted with one of the most comprehensive collections of John Waters films and books.  Thank you Christopher Bender.
